Could any actor/director make the "Oh man, oh God! Oh man, oh God" scene work?

Jack Nicholson/Stanley Kubrick? Robert De Niro/Martin Scorsese? Daniel Day-Lewis/Paul Thomas Anderson? Will Ferrell/Adam McKay? Okay, maybe Ferrell or somebody like him, but the scene shouldn't be funny. I think Norman Mailer (he wrote and directed) knew it was an awful, but didn't want to cut it. Poor Ryan O'Neal.

Christopher Walken. He would break the script line up into pieces, and say it slower, speed up at some points and slow down at others. Then he'd throw in an improvised "need more cowbell" at the end. It would take a minute (doesn't include walking on the beach because Walken doesn't do slow walks on the beach).

Top Comment: I would much rather have Carson do the voice for Kratos in a remaster / remake of the originals if they end up doing it, Judges voice does not fit with the younger Kratos. Also he already did voice young Kratos, he has a couple of lines during the memory scenes in Helheim in 4.
